St. Annibale Maria di Francia

St. Annibale Maria di Francia was the spiritual director of Melanie Calvat, visionary of Our Lady of La Salette.  Melanie lived in a convent founded by St. Annibale prior to her death.

Soon after, St. Annibale was introduced to the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta. Instantly finding the Holy Divine Will of God in Luisa, he dedicated much time and effort in reading and studying Luisa’s writings. He was Founder of the Rogationist Fathers, the Daughters of Divine Zeal and the Anthonian Orphanages.

Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta

From 1919 to 1927, at the Bishop’s orders, he was appointed Luisa Piccarreta’s Extraordinary Confessor, the Ecclesiastical Censor of the Servant of God’s writings. Volumes 1-19 of the writings bear his Nihil Obstat. He published some of her works, including L’orologio della Passione (The Hours of the Passion) in 1915. He was Canonized on May 16, 2004, by Pope Saint John Paul II. On July 7, 2010,  Pope Benedict XVI blessed a 17.5′ statue of Saint Annibale Maria di Francia at Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

St. Annibale – “Know that I no longer occupy myself with almost anything of the other things of my Institutes, since I dedicated myself completely to the Great Work of the Divine Will.”

Jesus to Luisa – V20 – 11.6.26 – “It is a Providential Act of the Supreme Will that wants him (St. Annibale) as First Apostle of the Divine Fiat and Proclaimer of It.”

St. Annibale speaking about Luisa – “The life of this virgin, Spouse of Jesus, is more Celestial than terrestrial.”

One of his great wishes was to have Luisa live in one of his convents, as did Melanie. However with Luisa, Our Lord said she must remain in Corato (Italy). St. Annibale proceeded to build a convent and orphanage in Corato. Shortly after his death (June 1, 1927), Luisa was brought to the orphanage in Corato, for the fulfillment of the founder’s wishes. She entered on October 7, 1928, Feast of the Holy Rosary. She remained there for exactly ten years, leaving October 7, 1938.

St. Annibale Maria di Francia – Messina, Italy – June 20, 1924  – “These are writings that must now be made known to the world. I believe they will produce great good. For as sublime as this Science of the Divine Will is, so do these writings of Divine Dictation present it, clearly and limpidly. In my opinion, no human intellect would have been able to form them.”

The three Appearances of Our Lady of La Salette reminds one of the Three Fiats!

Fiat of Creation

Fiat of Redemption
